With a great deal of support from parents, friends and fans on the last day of the season NJSA 04 was one of only two clubs to have two teams compete in the Final of NJ State Cup National Championship this fall.  In a highly competitive U14 girls final the NJSA 04 BLAST was going for its second State title but was beaten by the Arsenal Dynamite. The Blast team was missing a two key players who were called up to national camps that weekend. In the U12 age-group, the NJSA 04 BULLDOGS had a great run getting to the final and lost 1-0 in the winding minutes vs Marlton in a game played mostly in midfield with very few scoring opportunities for either side.

Congratulations on a great run for both teams, looking forward trying for that extra step next year!

NJSA 04 won the the 1995 age-group by defeating DC United 4-1 in the quarterfinals, Boston Bolts 2-0 in the semifinals and PDA 1-0 in the final. NJSA 04 dominated from the outset in a final which was well played by both sides. Congratulations to the NJSA 04 boys!!!!! ..... The NJSA 04  triumph was followed by the Red Bulls victory over the Cosmos in the 1996 age-group to complete a great day for New Jersey teams. Albertson Academy (NY) won the 1997 age-group.

Soccer America announces top 40 boys and girls youth soccer clubs in America for 2009
US Youth Soccer continues as common thread of America’s Best

FRISCO, Texas (September 30, 2009) – Today, Soccer America magazine named the Top 40 boys and girls youth soccer clubs in America.  Again, US Youth Soccer continues as the common thread of America’s best.
Now in its seventh installment, Soccer America selected the top 40 boys and girls clubs, based on success of their teams in national youth competitions over the last three years and national recognition for players from these clubs in 2009. 
 
The most important criteria for determining "Soccer America’s Top 40 youth rankings" was success in the US Youth Soccer National Championships during a three-year cycle (2007-2009) and the number of players who went on to U.S. Soccer National Teams and were selected to US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program All-Star rosters.
 
"Congratulations to each of the clubs selected as ’America’s Best Youth Clubs’ by Soccer America," said Larry Monaco, president of US Youth Soccer. "It’s wonderful to see that this publication continues to recognize the work of coaches, players and administrators. These clubs are honored for their dedication and efforts to the game. Their recognition provides us with another opportunity to be proud of how clubs, leagues, State Associations and national programs advance soccer to be ’The Game for All Kids’."
 
"Selecting America’s annual youth rankings has become very difficult because of the increasing quality we’re seeing in all parts of the country and the range of playing opportunities available for players," said Paul Kennedy, editor in chief and general manager of Soccer America. "We have expanded our rankings to 40 clubs. FRISCO, Texas (January 28, 2009) – Today, Soccer America magazine named the 2009 Top 30 boys and girls youth soccer clubs in America. 

 

Now in its sixth installment, Soccer America selected the top 30 boys and girls clubs, based on success of their teams in national youth competitions over the last three years and national recognition for players from these clubs in 2008.  The list was expanded from 20 to 25 in 2008 and again expanded from 25 to 30 this year.
 
The most important criteria for determining "America’s Best Youth Clubs" was success in the US Youth Soccer National Championships during a three-year cycle (2006-2008), US Youth Soccer National League involvement and the number of players who went on to U.S. Soccer national teams and were selected to US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program All-Star rosters via the annual US Youth Soccer ODP Thanksgiving Interregionals.

Under-14 and Under-15 Champions Crowned at 2008 US Youth Soccer National Championships

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas (July 26, 2008) – Four of the 12 2008 US Youth Soccer National Champions were crowned today at Burns Park Soccer Complex where the top teams in the country met to conclude the final leg of the 2008 US Youth Soccer National Championship Series. This weekend’s championship finals match-ups were determined after three rounds of preliminary play, earlier this week.

Tonight the spotlight was on the Under-14 and Under-15 age groups, who were greeted to another night of great crowds.  Over 3,000 were estimated in attendance and only added to the energy that was in the air and on display. 

NJSA 04 Gunners (NJ) was the first to be crowned tonight as the New Jersey boys clashed with their Southern California counterparts, Arsenal FC.  A possession battle endured throughout the match as neither side appeared breakable.  As time neared expiration, a Mael Corboz direct kick in the 70th was the difference maker as Corboz struck a perfect strike to beat the keeper to the near post.  Arsenal would also be awarded a direct kick in stoppage time but the Gunners defense would hold.  It’s been 20 years (1988 Union Lancers - Under-19 Boys, New Jersey) since a New Jersey boys team has won a national championship.

After the win Corboz was already thinking about next year, “This feels great, when I scored it was like a dream.  Everyone was going crazy.  We are finally, actually No. 1 in the country.  Now we have to defend our title.”

Former national and professional standout, Tab Ramos, has reminded his side several times this week to enjoy the moment, “I played in three World Cups and in the Olympic Games and I never got a chance to come to the [US Youth Soccer] National Championships.  Here they [the team] are and this is their day.  You may never come back to this day so enjoy it.”

Ramos felt the Gunners were a team of destiny, “There came a point in the second half and I thought this is destiny.  It was two excellent teams. We played a great opponent; the game could have gone either way.  I had a feeling that if it could go either way, it would go our way
]]> http://www.njsa04.com/home/279219.html NJSA/TRSP Summer Select's U14 Boys Inter Team wins the 2011 Pocono Cup "Premier" Tournament 07/11/2011 09:18 AM http://www.njsa04.com/home/531906.html NJSA/TRSP Summer Select’s Inter Team wins the 2011 Pocono Cup "Premier"  Tournament, U-14-Boys Tanglewood Bracket held the weekend of July 9th and 10th in the Poconos.  The Inter  team defeated Madison SC Storm in their 1st game on Saturday 2-0.  In their 2nd game on Saturday Inter shut out Everton NJ Latchford 96/97 Boys 3-0.  They returned to the Burnley Fields on Sunday and once again had a shut out game defeating English Pro Soccer Lightning 4-0. The team went on to play JDI Leiva in their 4th game of the weekend and tied 2-2, giving up the only 2 goals in what would eventually be 5 games.  In the finals they once again met English Pro Lightning and again had a perfect game by defeating their rivals 6-0 and winning the tournament.   Pictured are (standing) Louie Petrozziello, Gino Boscia, Kevin Simek, Antonio Boscia, Giovanni Boccuzzi,  Nicholas Scheuerman, Erik Monteagudo,  Chris Marino, Johnny DelSordi and  Coach Armando Tarazona. NJSA 04, in conjunction with Tab Ramos Soccer Programs is offering a unique opportunity to travel and play in Argentina and Peru. This will be a tremendous sporting and cultural experience.
Rosters will be limited to 16 players per team. The trip will be offered as a first come first serve basis.

After experiencing a great trip this year with two of our teams to Peru I am excited to be taking part in next summer’s trips. We will be taking 3 teams with us to Peru and 3 teams to Argentina. I will be coaching one of the teams and it will be a group of players who have been involved at our club since its inception. This will be the 93/94 group, the Gunners. A great way for most of them to play together and what better country to end this wonderful journey than Argentina as its hosting Copa America. A competition Argentina has won 14 times!
Our trip to Peru in 2011 will consist of playing some great games against the top academies in Lima and will be an unforgettable trip just as it was this summer. Peru is a country rich in soccer tradition and beautiful sceneries and all of our boys who participated this year are anxious to go back.
This trip will be offered to NJSA 04 members first.
I truly hope that you are able to take advantage of such great opportunities to travel the world, experience different cultures and see first hand what soccer means to people in other countries.
